JESS LOCKE

There's something mesmerising about watching Jess Locke play - the Melbourne based musician’s melancholic brand of folk pop is unassuming yet self assured in its sound. Jess’ songs are understated and brilliant, to describe them as simple would be a disservice to her skilful lyricism and gentle command of a guitar.

We caught up with Jess on a recent trip to Melbourne to film a couple of new songs in her band’s practice space.

INTO IT. OVER IT.

With the release of their third album, Standards, 2016 was the year that finally saw Into it. Over it. make their way to Australia. The record is both full and expansive; reflective, but not weighed down by nostalgia. Performing solo on this tour - just Evan Weiss and an acoustic guitar - the subtlety of the record and back catalog shone best.

We were lucky enough to catch up with Evan before his show in Melbourne at The Rev, where we filmed two songs, including Standards opener 'Open Casket' and a throwback to 2011 record Proper with 'Embracing Facts'.
