MARINA MITCHELL
Blue Mountains export, Marina Mitchell, is one to keep an eye on. Having recently made a new home in Melbourne, Marina's authenticity is so present, bringing the vulnerability of bedroom recordings to a live stage. This year has started strong, with a loving swarm of Triple J Unearthed attention for her stunningly fragile track, 'London', and a spot on a number of excellent shows, including Signal Midwest's Melbourne show and Lost Boy Records' Still Lost Fest in Sydney.
We first caught up with Marina at the end of a week of New Years festivities to record two songs in a Footscray backyard, including her brilliant single 'Slipping' and live show staple, 'Dumplings & TV'.
